[RE]accions Bellvitge

Just as molecules and organisms react and transform matter, people and ideas generate powerful reactions that drive science forward.
At IDIBELL, we do not see research as a cold discipline: it is the product of a chain of human and professional reactions. That is why we created the audiovisual series [RE]accions Bellvitge: we aim to bring biomedical research closer to society through its main protagonists—the scientists who work every day to improve public health. The audiovisual capsules feature IDIBELL professionals, accompanied by people who are important in their personal lives.

Bellvitge, a la recerca del futur

Bellvitge, a la recerca del futur is an exhibition of historical photographs, little-known facts, and thought-provoking questions that invite curiosity. It offers insight into the past, present, and above all the future of Bellvitge—one of the country’s and southern Europe’s leading hubs for research, healthcare, and medical education.
The exhibition highlights the transformative role of the Bellvitge Health Campus, which has been a driving force for change in the neighborhood, in L’Hospitalet, and across the country as a whole. It was installed at the Hospital de Bellvitge metro station (L1) and was open to visitors during December 2025.
The project was part of the events commemorating the centenaries of the city of L’Hospitalet and the Metro.

URIB Biomedicine Congress

The activity that concluded the course of the IDIBELL–Institut Bellvitge Educational Tandem was the celebration of the 3rd URIB Biomedicine Congress. During the event, first-year baccalaureate Biomedicine students presented the scientific posters they had developed throughout the year, focusing on topics such as microscopy techniques, ischemia or lymphangioleiomyomatosis.
The congress featured a keynote lecture on neuroscience and how synapses function, and also included the participation of IDIBELL predoctoral researchers and 4th-year secondary school students.

Del cap al cos

Three hundred students from the city of L’Hospitalet had the opportunity to attend and take part in the morning session Del cap al cos (From the mind to the body), held at the auditorium of the Bellvitge University Hospital. The event was led by researchers from IDIBELL and hospital professionals.
The activity, included in the Mental Health Month program, addressed the main mental health issues affecting adolescents and young people, such as eating disorders, stress, and addictions.
